Grad Novi Pazar je ekonomski, kulturni i univerzitetski centar jugozapadne Srbije. Grad je osnovao Ishak-beg Ishaković polovinom 15. veka. Novi Pazar, kao grad, prvi put je pomenut u pisanim dikumentima koje je izdala Dubrovačka Republika 1461. godine. Novi Pazae se odlikuje raznolikošću kultura, etniciteta, religija i načina života. Grad Novi Pazar je poznat i kao najmlađi grad u Evropi po prosečnoj starosti stanovništva. Izuzetan geografski položaj je preodredio da se lokalno stanovništvo bavi trgovinom kao osnovnom delatnošću. Novi Pazar je nakon otvoranja dva univerziteta prerastao u studentski grad za celokupni sandžački okrug.
Grad Sjenica se nalazi u prostranoj sjeničkoj dolini u srcu Pešteri, na nadmorskoj visini od 1000m. Opština Sjenica je pozicionirana između reka Uvac i Grabovica. Ovo prostrano područije je čini drugom najvećom opštinom u Srbiji sa teritorijom od 1600 kvadratnih kilometara. Većina teritorije ove opštine se nalazi na Pešterskoj visoravni i obuhvata 103 naselja. Prema podacima sa Popisa stanovništva iz 2011. godine, u Sjenici živi 26.392 stanovnika. Od tog broja 12.958 (49,10%) su osobe ženskoga roda, a 13.434 (50,90%) osobe muškoga roda. Opština Sjenica je višenacionalna sredina i u njoj žive Bošnjaci, Srbi, Albanci, Crnogorci, Turci, Romi i ostali.
Područije Opštine Tutin se nalazi na jugoistoku Sandžaka i jugozapadu Srbije. Tutin je prvi put pomenut u Gluhavičkom povelju 1396. godine. Čitavo područje karakteriše planinska klima, s dugim i hladnim zimama i kraćim i svežijim letima, osim u dolinama Ibra i Vidrenjaka gde klima ima karakteristike podplaninskog tipa. Prirodni pejzaž Tutina oblikovan je Pešterskim visoravni, Tutinskom dolinom, planinom Mokra Gora, jezerom Gazivode i rekama Ibar i Vidrenjak. Ukupna površina opštine je 741 km2 i sastoji se od 99 naselja na nadmorskoj visini od 1.000 metara. Opština Tutin bogata je prirodnim resursima i skromnim trgovinskim potencijalima, s glavnim izvorima prihoda iz sektora prerade drveta i proizvodnje nameštaja, kao i poljoprivrede.
